Warner’s flatbed service is their oldest. It started in 1956 with one flatbed truck and trailer and has grown to 250 trucks and 500 trailers. You can also choose to drive a dry van or a TCU (temperature controlled unit).

Werner EnterprisesYou may want to consider signing on as a team driver. You’ll be driving the newest and best equipment and taking advantage of the most advanced technological systems available. Team drivers may be eligible for a $5000 sign-on bonus as well as bonus checks for all the miles driven.

There are a number of advantages to becoming a Werner driver. In addition to a comprehensive benefit plan that includes dental, vision, prescription and health insurance, a 401(k) plan and stock purchase plans, Werner is a well-established and debt-free company. You will also be eligible for disability and paid vacations.

They offer a lease purchase plan so you can become an owner operator if that’s your career goal. As a Werner driver, you also have a year-round option of carrying a rider with you as well as a pet.

If you are a veteran, you may be eligible for Werner’s Apprenticeship Program, which allows you to receive your VA Educational Benefits for up to a full year in addition to your regular pay.


Your veterans benefits are of course tax-free in the span of one year could meet or exceed $13,016. Your VA benefits are paid directly to you from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Werner does not maintain a privately owned truck driving school, but instead works with over 800 truck driving schools across the nation. Upon request, they can help you by referring you to a Werner approved truck driving school close to you. Once you have completed your training they will also provide tuition reimbursement up to $6000.

    So Werner will reimburse your tuition, but you have to pay for it first up front?

      Typically, if a trucking company reimburses your tuition costs, it’s because you paid for it upfront. You may want to check around though, since there are some trucking companies that will pay for your training if you agree to drive for them when you finish.
